Dr. Stephen Eric Osburn
Dr. Osburn, 65, of Silverado Canyon, CA, passed away on January 20, 2011 at his home with his family. Steve was born in Detroit, Michigan, January 29, 1945 to Ina and James Osburn. He grew up in Iowa City, IA. After graduating from the University of Iowa Medical School he moved to California to complete his pediatric residency and Genetics fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. He worked in private practice until 1998 when he joined St. Joseph Heritage Medical Group.
He was well respected in the community for his work with children with developmental disabilities. He was loved by his patients for his listening and his calming nature. He was appreciated by a generation of residents and students for his teaching.
He married the love of his life, Kathe on December 20, 1975. They enjoyed their time together in Silverado and traveling the world. Together they were active in Job's Daughters International and the Orange Grove Masonic Lodge. 
He played piano beautifully and hockey enthusiastically.
He is survived by his wife, Kathe; his sons, Loren Lilly (Brenda), Lance Lilly, David Osburn; his daughter, Sinda Althoen (Oliver); his grandchildren, Cameron, Caitlin and Gwendolyn Lilly, Zoë and Emmet Althoen; his daughter-of-the-heart, Yulia Usmanova; and his siblings, Nancy Potter (Tom), and David Osburn (Bev).
  He has donated his body to the UC Irvine willed body program. Even in death he is a teacher that leads by example. His memorial service was held on Saturday, January 29th at 2 pm at the Orange Masonic Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
